About the Group

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am the Community Walk Leader for Walk & Talk Lisburn. I decided to set up the group as I love to walk along the Lagan tow path but find walking alone, as a female, a bit intimidating for such a secluded area. With the autumn season drawing in, Walk & Talk Lisburn will focus on mental and physical well-being and is the perfect opportunity to get active, meet new people and chat.

This is a new group stating in Lisburn in Oct 2018. We will meet on Monday nights at 7 pm for 7.15 start at Market Square, Lisburn (at the front of the Irish Linen Museum).

The group is limited to 16 people per walk.

Where We Usually Walk

The group will walk for approx 1 hour at a leisurely pace along the tow path, which is mostly flat and tarmacked. Walkers will be encouraged to lift 5 items of plastic rubbish each from along the route in an bid to "Clean up the toe path" as we walk.

Walkers should wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking comfortably. Other items that may be useful are, bottled walker, snacks and possibly a torch for the darker winter months.

There will be opportunities for short breaks along the way for anyone who may need them.

Open To New Members?
