Volunteers at Belfast Hills Hit the Trails!

Walking In Your Community in conjunction with the Belfast Hills Partnership held a recent Community Walk Leader training day at Belfast Castle!

This was another fantastic opportunity for volunteers at the Belfast Hills Partnership to avail of this superb training opportunity that would enable them to individually lead walks throughout the local area with members of the community.

Richard Gawith, Training and Development Officer at Walking In Your Community had nothing but praise for this group stating "Sterling work by Belfast Hills Partnership that brought together community leaders from all across the city. It was fantastic to see such a diverse range of organisations and cultures represented at this course. Hopefully many more people will now have opportunities to walk in the parks and hills around Belfast and beyond with the walking groups these newly-trained leaders will create."

Brian French from the Belfast Hills Partnership commented "The course was very informative . I hope to put the knowledge I learned to good use."

Angus MacKay also from the Belfast Hills Partnership reiterated this by adding "I will now lead walks as much as I can, and pass on what I have learned where possible.
