Norman Weekes, Big Red Arrow 27

The Big Red Arrow 27 walking group was formed in June 2014 by Community Walk Leader Norman Weekes.

With a core group of 10 keen walkers varying in ages walks community walks are primarily carried out in Lisburn in forest parks, parklands and towpaths along the Lagan Valley.

When speaking about the walking group, Norman commented "There is great camaraderie in the group, everyone simply enjoys stepping out in the fresh air, walking and talking of course."

He continued "We never tire of the beautiful and interesting environment that we have virtually on our doorstep."

When speaking about his experience during his Community Walk Leader training, Norman enthused "As a Community Walk Leader I have benefitted greatly from the Walking In Your Community training run by Outdoor Recreation NI. I enjoyed the informality of the training and it's always good to meet other liked-minded people from different walks of life. I really appreciate the on-going support provided by Outdoor Recreation NI and look forward to further developing Big Red Arrow 27 with their guidance and assistance."
