Navigating to Success in Belfast Activity Centre

Belfast Activity Centre hosts a Community Walk Leader Training Day on Thursday 30th April for Community Leaders and Volunteers.

This successful training day enabled participants to learn the necessary skills needed to lead short, safe and accessible walks with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Topics covered during this training day included navigation and map reading skills as well as some useful information to set up and run an active walking group.

A highlight of the day for all those attending was practivally applying their new skills during a group walk around Barnetts Demesne with course tutor Fiona Mullan.

Walking In Your Community Co Ordinator Claire Overend commented following the event "It's great to see our new Community Walk Leaders leave confident and keen to start walking groups in their local community. This is also a great time for them to network and share ideas".
