Walks With A Difference

On Wednesday 20th May 2015, Walking In Your Community welcomed a number of Community Walk Leaders to Barnett Demesne, Belfast for a workshop in Creating Inspiring Walks.

This workshop was designed to support walk organisers to enhance participant interaction by providing innovative and inspiring ideas to make walks more interesting, fun and exciting.

Walk Leaders learnt techniques on how to incorporate a range of activities within a walk such as team building, orienteering, art, photography, treasure hunts and geo-caching.

This relaxed and informal introduction in how to make walking exciting and inspiring is suitable for anyone who leads walks for young, old or people with disabilities.

Community Walk Leader Camilla Reynolds commented following the course "The training was very good giving me new ideas of things to do on walks with my group. This course had great energy! In particular I found the balance of no cost exercises such as creative art and slightly higher cost exercises that would require some equipment extremly informative and useful".

Keep an eye out on the Walking In Your Community Website and Facebook Page for upcoming Events & Training.
