Get Out Walking and Celebrate St. Patrick's Weekend

Get out walking and enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend at some of Saint Patrick’s famous hot spots on the Emerald Isle this weekend!

Why not kick off your weekend by immersing yourself in the history of the Patron Saint of Ireland by taking a visit to Armagh City. With 2 Cathedrals both named after the man himself, Armagh is most commonly known as the spiritual home of St Patrick. With many local routes around the city including the Palace Demesne and  The Mall there is plenty to  see and do in the City this weekend. If you however feel like straying from the festivities of the city itself a short drive towards Portadown transports yout to the gorgeous Ardress House, perfect for a lazy afternoon dander in the stunning Armagh countryside.

With lots of fun activities happening in Armagh this weekend, please visit Armagh City council and download their St Patrick's Weekend Guide!

Make sure to visit Downpatrick and the magnificent Down Cathedral which is said to be the spiritual resting place of Saint Patrick himself. After having explored the history of this quaint town, why not take a short stroll along Quoille River and Jane’s Shore where you can see remain from the Inch Abbey. To learn more about the life and times of Saint Patrick, make it your mission to pop along to The Saint Patrick’s Centre where you can relax with a hot drink. After having explored this beautiful town a short 3 mile drive will direct you to the peaceful Saul Church which is famously said to be the first ecclesiastical site in Ireland and coincidentally the birthplace of Saint Patrick’s crusade.
