Walking Clubs Welcome Walkers To UFRC Open Weekend

On Sat 30th Sept & Sun 1st Oct UFRC Clubs from across Northern Ireland welcomed walkers to the first UFRC Open Weekend in the Mournes, Glenariff and other locations across Northern Ireland.

Despite the weather the walks were well attended with many walkers planning on returning to walk again (on a dryer day) or joining the club as a member.

Commenting on the event UFRC Active Clubs Coordinator Claire Saunders said, "What a great weekend for clubs to welcome new people along. We can't always pick the weather but we can certainly pick who we walk with and that is what is so fantastic about the UFRC clubs. Walks are an opportunity to catch up with friends while getting out and exploring the mountains, glens or trails around Northern Ireland taking in spectacular views. Well done to all those who made it out this weekend!"

For those who missed out on this weekend it's not to late to sign up to the Easy Ramblers Welcome Walk (Crawfordsburn) or Wee Binnians Invitation Walk (Mournes) on Sun 8th Oct.
