Why not make the most of these longer sunlight days than by getting out walking with family and friends this weekend.  With an array of relaxing family friendly routes, you will be spoilt for choice but to make your decision a little easier, here are some of our Top Picks.


Mount Stewart

The Mount Stewart Lake and Garden Walk is perfect for a lazy Sunday stroll. This short 2 mile walk will allow you to enjoy the famous gardens and woodlands on site within this Co. Down gem. Indulge yourself in the history of this magnificent location and enjoy the springtime blossoms while taking in the views of the grand lake and magnificent mansion. Once finished make sure to treat yourself to a delightful treat in the nearby tearooms.

Castle Caldwell

In the stunning countryside of Fermanagh, lies Castle Caldwell and its superb Forest Trail, perfect for a stress-free dander. This low level walk is approximately 2.5 miles in length and it will allow you to enjoy the outstanding views over Lower Lough Erne and gaze over the ruins of what once was the mighty Castle Caldwell. When finished why not take a short trip to the nearby town of Belleek. With lots to see and do in this quaint little town, this is a must see spot this weekend.

Portstewart Strand

What better way to get out walking than by hitting Portstewart Strand. This location is perfect for a leisurely walk with friends and family so embrace the cool March air in one of Northern Ireland’s hotspots so grab those walking shoes and enjoy the golden sands overlooking the Atlantic this weekend.  Be sure to finish your trip by popping into a nearby cafe to relax and take in the sights of this beautiful coastal town.
