Belfast Hills Heritage Festival

The Belfast Hills Partnership reveals the hidden history of the hills during a 10-day series of events linked to the heritage of the Belfast Hills from 29th June - 8th July.

The Belfast Hills heritage festival is guaranteed to be fun for all the family.

Enter a world of fantasy and enchantment on our children’s storytelling day at Belfast Castle with tall tales and poetry inspired by the unbelievably enormous Cave Hill diamond!

Go fossil hunting to dig out some dinosaur bones, grab your wellies and go pond dipping for water creatures, and get creative at our traditional arts and crafts fair at Clifton House – Belfast’s old poorhouse!

Hop on our bus tour at the launch of the Belfast Hills Townlands publication, and learn about the history of our local placenames.

Become a jailbird to hear songs and stories of the hills locked inside Crumlin Road Gaol and learn about the amazing array of archaeological booty found at the largest community excavation on Divis Mountain.
